Speed Limits, Seat Belt, Mobile Phone Usage Policy

Speed Limit, Seat Belt, Use of Mobile Phones are among the working principles of the Cyprus Turkish Petroleum administration. It is the purpose of the Company Management to take all kinds of measures regarding the Prevention of Work Accidents.

The following commitments will help us achieve this goal:

  • The speed limits determined by the administration in the fields of activity will be strictly observed, however; Considering that the weather and ground conditions may pose a risk to driving, the speed limit can be further reduced.
  • While driving, the movements of other drivers and pedestrians in the traffic should be constantly observed, and the vehicle should be used in a “DEFENSIVE” manner.
  • Sufficient following distance should be left with vehicles in motion in traffic.
  • However, this distance should be increased in cases where the surface is slippery due to snow, rain or similar reasons.
  • It is mandatory to use a Seat Belt while driving. When using a seat belt; The lover part of the seat belt should be above your hipbone and upper part should be above your shoulder blade.
  • Using forceps or paper clips to keep the belt loose will harm you, its use is strictly prohibited.
  • Second parties will not be allowed in your vehicle.
  • The use of mobile phones while driving is strictly prohibited for any reason.
  • Incoming calls will not be answered, the caller will be called back after parking in a suitable area.
  • Even if mobile phones are turned off, carrying them during filling and discharging is prohibited.
  • Radio use is prohibited while the vehicle is in motion. Radio calls will be answered after the vehicle has stopped in a safe place.

All Cyprus Turkish Petroleum employees, Tanker Drivers and contractors working at the Cyprus Turkish Petroleum facilities are responsible for complying with the Speed Limit, Seat Belt, Mobile Phone Usage Policy. Managers working at the facilities and at the Head Office are responsible for ensuring that this policy is implemented in their own units and increasing our company’s prestige in the public by improving our performance in these matters.
